From the Chrome Web Store
The Web Store listing is in preparation. Until it is live, use the unpacked build below.
From a build
- Download
web-accessibility-scanner-v1.0.2.zipand unzip it. - Open
chrome://extensions— oredge://extensions. - Turn on Developer mode.
- Choose Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
Using it
- Open any page and press F12.
- Pick the Accessibility tab.
- Press Scan page.
If you would rather keep DevTools for something else, right-click the page and choose Accessibility Scanner to open the same panel in its own window.
Reloading a development build
Reloading the extension while DevTools is open leaves the previous panel code running. Close DevTools and reopen it after a reload — the build number is shown in the panel's More menu, which is the quickest way to tell which version you are actually looking at.
Permissions it asks for

scripting | Runs the checks inside the page you asked to scan, and inside its frames. The rules read the rendered DOM and computed styles, which cannot be done from outside the page. |
storage | Keeps your settings, recent scans, recorded flows and manual review notes on your device. |
contextMenus | Adds the right-click entries that start a scan. |
| Access to sites | The page you scan is whichever one you are working on — a local server, a preview deployment or a live site — so the addresses cannot be known ahead of time. It is used only for a scan you asked for. |
